ISS Automotive Uses Artificial Intelligence to Communicate with the Driver
An In-Dash Coffee Cup Light Does Not Come with Instructions. AI Process Patent Can Improve Drowsy Driving with Coaching!
- Currently, OEM drowsy driving detection systems alert drivers, they are drowsy with simple warnings (e.g., a coffee cup light icon on the dash).
- It is unclear whether these cues are sufficient to affect an immediate remedy (e.g., stopping to rest) or longer-term behavior change (e.g., adoption of an adequate sleep pattern).
- ISS developed a methodology that will allow in-vehicle alerts to be used with Voice Technology to Interact with the driver, find locations for coffee, food, rest, turn up music, play books on tape, based on Driver’s Personal Profile.
- ISS Fatigue Management with AI alerts the driver and uses interactive voice to “coach” the driver to make safer choices.
- Because drivers sometimes ignore these, we want this to work with the Driver’s Voice Technology Assistant, and Telematics with GPS to Save Lives.
